Service eighteightPAULIE

I thought the service was okay. We did wait for more than 10 minutes after our supposed start time but the staff didn’t acknowledge it. Other than that, they were good.

eighteightBEN

Pretty standard – they were prompt and friendly, although a bit on the shy side.

Puzzles sevensevenPAULIE

I thought the puzzles here were good, but nothing groundbreaking. A lot of it was generic, but a lot of it was also well-done. We did this as a group of 6 but every person had something to do. Make sure to look around the room very carefully as several of the puzzles are visual.

eighteightBEN

You start the room off separated into two jail cells, and communication is key to getting out of them! The puzzles in the cells weren’t too difficult since there was already the added layer of communication.

Afterwards, I thought that all the puzzles were pretty intuitive. The clueing was pretty good – there weren’t any leaps of logic but nothing was too transparent either.

Look sevensevenPAULIE

Level 1 Escape is consistent with shabby-looking rooms. This one is no exception. They make the effort to make the rooms very ugly. (Because their themes tend to be dark, they can get away with it.)

sevensevenBEN

This wasn’t the prettiest room ever, but then again, I don’t think it’s meant to be! Within the confines of the theme, I think that this room was appropriately disheveled for the most part.

Immersion eighteightPAULIE

There was a lot of yelling among our group of friends. Every person was able to contribute thanks to the puzzle variety. The very clinical initial introductory video set up the room nicely, with one of my friends behind me whispering to me, “I’m actually really creeped out right now.”

eighteightBEN

The introduction video set the tone for the room really well – it was quite well made! The room remained subtly creepy throughout our time there, except for one strange part with lasers.

Theme eighteightPAULIE

The theme for this room is one that we haven’t encountered a lot. I thought they used it well, considering the clear progression: You start off locked up, out the hallway, and into the experiment room. In a way, the story was incorporated into the setting.

sevensevenBEN

I disagree with Paulie on this one actually – I think this is a theme that we’ve played quite often where the premise is to find the antidote for The Mysterious Disease. I enjoyed how the puzzles were mostly thematically relevant throughout the room though – the way they set up the story allowed them to have a larger variety of on-theme puzzles, which I appreciated.

Overall Tv1IU1JPAULIE

I give this room a #gold. This is a good room to do with a large group of friends, both experienced and inexperienced. Remember, communication is key.

Tv1IU1JBEN

This room gets a #gold. Our group had a lot of fun! We brought in some people who had never done escape rooms before and they really got into it, so I’m glad we all had a good experience.

  1. Another good room. We completed in early December, would rate it as a Gold to Platinum. A bit too linear would be my one significant negative.
